Day 2
Keflavík – Landmnannahellir (highlands)
Our first day of adventure! Today we have to go into the highlands to discover why Iceland is said to be another “planet”. We will make some excursions and visits along the way to enjoy its waterfalls and landscapes. Once in our accommodation, we will make an excursion to a summit of the FJALLABAK NATURAL RESERVE that will leave you speechless. Accommodation in mountain refuge.
Day 3
Landmannahellir (highlands) – Skaftárhreppur (highlands)
On our next day we will go even further into the interior of Iceland. The interior is characterized by being completely uninhabited, with a large presence of glaciers and lava deserts. This combination makes this place a unique site. Our destination is the mountains of LANDMANNALAUGAR . An active area where, apart from being able to enjoy its trekkings, we can enjoy its natural hot springs.
Accommodation in mountain refuge.
Day 4
Skaftárhreppur (highlands)
We start the day with a trekking in the area of the largest volcanic canyon in the world, ELDGJÁ . An unusual and astonishingly beautiful landscape. Once the effort is finished, we will go with our 4×4 towards the heart of the highlands. This time to explore and visit the lakes of LANGISJÓR, one of the most emblematic and at the same time hidden gems of the highlands. There we will make the ascent of the mountain with possibly the best views of the whole country: SVEINSTINDUR. Accommodation in mountain refuge.
Day 5
Skaftárhreppur – Vatnajökull National Park
On our fifth day of travel we will approach the largest glacier in Europe…VATNAJÖKULL, famous for its landscapes and contrasts. Our goal is to perform one of the best activities of our trip: a GLACIER WALK through one of its icy tongues, where they will teach us how to use crampons and ice axes on the ice. We will end the day with the pearl of Iceland, the JOKURSARLÓN glacial lagoon and its DIAMOND BEACH. We stay on the slopes of the mountains, near the glacier. Accommodation in rural house.
Day 6
Vatnajökull National Park – Vík
Early in the day a secret trekking awaits us where we can see a movie landscape. Everything and that the best is yet to come, today it’s time to navigate with KAYAK BETWEEN ICEBERGS. An initiation experience with which you can pass between the ice floes and enjoy a unique environment. Towards the afternoon we will go to our accommodation, hidden in one of the most peculiar and remote valleys. Accommodation in cabins
Day 7
Vík – Thórsmörk
Today we will tour the south coast, the area of Iceland with the most famous visits, such as the SELJALANSDFOSS waterfall (the waterfall that can be passed behind), SKÓGAFOSS, REYNISFJARA (basalt beach) and the famous volcano of 2010 (Eyjafjallajökull). Our group will not only stay with the typical visits of the area, our day hides many other waterfalls that we will travel. Our destination moves away from the conventional routes and we will enter the valley of Thor, where we will cross several rivers with 4×4 and make some little-known excursions and visits. Accommodation in glamping.
Day 8
Thórsmörk – Kerlingarfjöll
If we liked the interior of Iceland at the beginning of the trip… it’s time to repeat. This time we enter the area further into the interior of the highlands: KERLINGARFÖLL. In this place a bit of everything awaits us: a 4×4 route to reach a very impressive volcanic area, where we will understand why Iceland is called the land of Fire and Ice. In our refuge today we have several trekkings to perform and reward of hot springs. Accommodation in refuge.
Day 9
Kerlingarfjöll – Reykjavík
Last day of travel, but no less spectacular. Leaving the highlands by another magnificent route in 4×4, we will visit the best known waterfall of the whole trip and the famous GEYSIR (Strokkur). Once in Reykjavík we will take a guided tour of the city and we will have the afternoon and night free to enjoy the city, with famous buildings such as Hallgrímskirkja, Perlan and Harpa.
